Trust Routing in MANET for Securing DSR Routing Protocol

In this paper, we describe a new authentication service and trust level attached in every packet to make the routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Network secure. Efficient operation of Ad Hoc networks is dependent on maintaining appropriate routing information in a distributed fashion. The routing protocol is vulnerable to attacks from malicious nodes. Therefore, our prime focus is on securing the routing protocols. We have introduce a security scheme for routing protocols in Ad Hoc networks, which helps in achieving authentication with minimal overheads. Our scheme has been devised to work optimally with DSR routing protocol, and involves prevention of attacks from external intruders and detects misbehaviors of the network nodes at the same time. The integration of the scheme into the routing protocol has ensured that the performance of the routing protocol is not affected significantly.
